I should like to express my gratitude for the benefits received by myself and family through the study of Christian Science. During the past several years we have had many demonstrations of the healing power of God through Christian Science. Before my wife took up this study, she had been told by her doctor that owing to a weak heart she would be unable to do any hard work in future, but through Christian Science she received such benefit that she was able to do all that was necessary, and is now stronger than she was twenty years ago.

Though I did not come to Science for physical healing, I soon experienced improved health from its study. I had been accustomed to rely on medicine to keep me in health, and still had occasional sick headaches. I found when I discontinued the medicine and ceased to believe in material remedies I was much better in health and that the sick headaches left me. I also found that the numerous cuts and bruises received at my work healed more quickly and cleanly than when I relied on antiseptics instead of Truth. Later I had a severe attack of acute bronchitis, which I had been subject to periodically since childhood. Being unable to make the demonstration alone, I sought the help of a practitioner and in three days was permanently healed of the disease, and at the same time was healed of the habit of smoking, though I had been a heavy smoker for over twenty years. For these healings and for the many proofs of God's ever presence I am deeply grateful. My gratitude also extends to our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, whose patient search for the truth made these benefits possible to us.
