When I first became interested in Christian Science, I thought that if I could live three years without medicine, as some of my friends had done, it would be a miracle. Now that I have been a student of Christian Science about fourteen years, the miracle has lasted that long.

The healing effect of this truth which is "too large for creeds," has been experienced in many ways, and any account that I might give must necessarily remain incomplete, unless I could lay bare my life and show how the hidden springs of thought have been purified; how consciousness has been purged of bitterness; how resentment, malice, irritability, and impatience have been replaced to a very great extent with love; how morbidness and fear of evil are giving way to confidence in God; how unselfishness and love for my fellow man are melting the adamant of self-righteousness, self-esteem, and self-will. I could go on and on telling how thought is changing as I come into a clearer understanding of God and man, and how the concept of man grows more perfect as it is cleansed from the flesh. The signs following this better understanding of the Christ, Truth, are many and varied. I have been healed of the fear of climate, of malaria, rheumatic trouble, a nervous anæmic condition, including bowel disorder, and a swollen condition of the body and limbs, which made either movement or rest difficult. I have also been healed of influenza, bilious attacks, and fever.

I am very grateful to all who have helped me, also for the Christian Science publications, which are a constant source of help. It is indeed a cause for deep gratitude that there was one pure enough to receive and courageous enough to give this healing truth to the world.
