It is with a sense of deep gratitude and a heart filled with joy that I wish to testify to the wonderful healing and other blessings which have come to me through Christian Science. On Dec. 21, 1911, I was seized with severe spasms, said to be due to gall-stones, and as I was suffering intense pain, medical advice was secured immediately. The physician diagnosed the case as above, with serious complications, and said that only an operation could prevent the disease from becoming aggravated. I could not make up my mind, however, to have it performed, and felt very much alarmed, as I had gone through a severe operation twice before.
Having heard quite a little about Christian Science as a curative agent, we sent for an adherent of this teaching, and information being given at once on the subject, we wrote to a Christian Science practitioner, who kindly took up treatment. Immediately after the letter reached its destination, the troubles began to lose their hold upon me, and after a week had elapsed I was able to leave my bed. I was relieved at the same time of severe hernia, with which I had been afflicted for eighteen years, and I have regained health and a sense of contentment, for which, as well as for other blessings, I give sincere thanks to God, and to the woman who has brought to this age the light that shineth in the darkness of this world.
Emma Könnecke, Bahrdorf, Hzgt. Braunschweig, Germany.
