Turning Points In Spiritual Growth

New and brighter paths

As I look back on this journey, although there were ups and downs in my involvement in Christian Science, there was a consistent desire to understand and practice it.
I made up my mind that I would stop thinking so much about myself and start considering how I could help others. As I began to put this into practice, remarkable things started to happen.

Planted in Christ

My life may not be a bed of roses, but I am so firmly planted in Christ that no matter the challenge, I know that I can withstand any storm and not be uprooted, thanks to God!

A fresh perspective

I discerned that the better thinker I was striving to be would find it more effective to ask God what He understands about Himself and His creation, including me.
I needed to turn away from a sense of myself as a mortal having too much to do and recognize my true identity as a beloved, cared-for child of God, an ever-present help.

The demand for church

I like to think of each church that grows up in a community as that community's answered prayer for the presence of the saving Christ—the message of God's love for humanity.

Just as darkness has no power to oppose the dawn of a new day, God’s love and its transforming effect cannot be stopped.
Within a few days the warts had completely disappeared. While the physical healing was indeed a real joy, it was especially dear to me because it was proof that everything I was learning in Christian Science about God and my spiritual identity was the truth.
I was completely healed of nerve pain. This condition has not recurred since that visit with my friend.

Reconnecting with Christian Science

There were no aftereffects from the fall. I’d been completely healed by God.
I felt a deep, persistent desire to understand this Science and to really know God. I wanted the kind of knowing that comes from a direct, definitive experience of the divine presence in my life—giving me a foundation I could stand on even if doubts or questions arose.
Most important, I’ve been more consistent in putting into practice daily what I know to be true about myself and others as God’s creation.
