Hour of Prayer

Into the secret placeOf Love's abiding,Humbly, with gratitude,My Lord, I fare;With joy in Thy service—Trusting, confiding,Thus may my life becomeUnceasing prayer.

The Day's Work

Gently the day breaks, and all earth is waking;Sunbeams are drinking the dew from the lea;Morning is here, and from out vibrant stillness,Love's work is calling—is beckoning me.

Purity

Hidden in the earth's great heartLie little humble seeds;Yet they unfold,And, gently pushing upward to the light,Grow into lovely lilies,Clothed in the garb of purity.
May Love divine thy close companion be,And guide thy footsteps all along life's way,And may Love give to thee that wondrous peaceThe world can neither give nor take away.

To Know

IT is a very easy thingTo know that Thou art nigh,When all the land lies smilingBeneath a tender sky.

"The smile of God" *

A ROSE —"the smile of God"!I bow my head in silent, reverent praise;Its beauty rareLeads on to visions pure, and thought ascendsIn swift-winged prayer.

"And have not charity"

IT is a simple thing to give a coat, To stand between a neighbor and the cold.

Mother-Love

As when in human friendship one awakes Lovingly conscious of a loved one's need, And on swift wing with prompt compassion makes Impulsive answer in both word and deed;

Peace, Be Still

PEACE, be still! Oh, may we knowThat peace is ever near,That God His tender love doth showTo all who claim His care.

Prayer

WHAT is prayer?
