Saying "Christian Science" out loud!

What is it like for me to say, “I’m a Christian Scientist” today? Well, every time I have talked with friends or acquaintances, introduced myself, or introduced ideas that I have learned from my practice of Christian Science, it has always been in the larger context of understanding that all of us are Christian Scientists!

OK, that needs some explaining.

In Science and Health, Mary Baker Eddy wrote, “To those natural Christian Scientists, the ancient worthies, and to Christ Jesus, God certainly revealed the spirit of Christian Science, if not the absolute letter” (p. 483). This makes me think of many people whom I have met who, regardless of religious affiliation, have inspired me to deepen my own commitment to prayer and healing through what I’ve seen as the discipline of their work for mankind and their profound love for life and goodness and God.
