Eye on the world: The universal Christmas message
At Christmas and always, the message of the Christ assures us of the certainty of healing, salvation, and God’s love for everyone.
Ideas on this subject:
From the Bible:
“Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.” (Jesus’ words, Matthew 28:20 )
From the writings of Mary Baker Eddy:
“The advent of Jesus of Nazareth marked the first century of the Christian era, but the Christ is without beginning of years or end of days. Throughout all generations both before and after the Christian era, the Christ, as the spiritual idea, — the reflection of God, — has come with some measure of power and grace to all prepared to receive Christ, Truth.” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 333 )
“To-day the Christ is, more than ever before, ‘the way, the truth, and the life,’—‘which lighteth every man that cometh into the world,’ healing all sorrow, sickness, and sin.” (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 257 )
From The Christian Science Hymnal:
“How silently, how silently,
The wondrous gift is given;
So God imparts to human hearts
The blessings of His heaven.
No ear may hear his coming,
But in this world of sin,
Where meekness will receive him, still
The dear Christ enters in.”

Related articles from the Christian Science Sentinel:
In “The work of Christmas”: “Christmas reminds us of the worth of each and every idea of God, and the work ahead to see this made evident universally. It reminds us of our own worth and the need to prove that worth in deeds.” And “... Christmas is evidence that the world is to be loved with pure and healing truth….”
In “The eternal Christmas”: “Day by day, as we let the Christ show us God's will, we find ourselves heir to all the goodness of the divine Father, heir to an abundant life that knows no decline. This unfolding is the eternal Christmas that brings healing, renewal, and a peace that cannot wane.”
