Divine radiance
James Walter
Dawn’s first light
reveals a silhouette
against the morning sky—
the darkened outline of a tree,
a hint of trunk and branches.
And with irrepressible progress,
the growing light unveils each detail
in sharp relief,
defining form and color,
depth and beauty.
So is dawn’s promise
fulfilled.
Our true light is Christ,
which dawns in every heart,
illumines all true thought,
and, with irreversible inspiration,
expands to reveal the essence of all we are.
Christ’s risen radiance
depicts the infinite details of
God’s unbounded creation.
Thus, incorporeal being,
the true nature of all things,
is seen.
So is God’s promise
fulfilled.
