Soul poem

What is Soul?
       The divine, universal I am; the source of our identity.
       Soul causes us to recognize our own and another’s original, upright character.
       It looses us from enslaving personal sense into the selfless freedom of grace.
       Soul is our eternal home, in which we remain healthy, sheltered, satisfied.
       Soul is God.

       Soul silences material sense;
       inspires sacred vision and hearing;
       brings to remembrance the beautiful and good;
       imbues us with serenity, artistry, musicality, glee;
       reveals the sweet reality of painless, ageless, deathless being;
       redeems, restores, heals.

       How do we know what we are? Soul illumines our true self-knowledge.
       Soul, the divine all-creative Ego, fashions us, composes us, beautifies us;
       Soul individualizes, diversifies, colors us.
       We are the very expression of Soul.
       We are truly sinless, blessed, dear.
       And we are whole . . .
       Soulfully.
