A little walk over the water

Jesus walked over the troubled waters;
he didn’t drown in them;
he didn’t battle them;
he simply walked right over them.

so today you and I may never be confronted with this . . .
or will we?
Not all the angry seas are comprised of water.
More often they’re disguised as tumultuous situations.
We can let them drown us in fear and doubt and despair;
we can splash around in them,
indulging in water fights,
or we can walk over them,
see them for what they are.

And what are they?
Lies we’ve taken in,
and assumed to be real—
in essence,
“nothing claiming to be something.” 1
How else could we see this except buoyed by
perfect Life,
changeless Love,
real Truth—
God’s endless allness?

Let’s take a little walk over the water today.
