Goodbye flu season

When I was in high school, I would get hit with the flu each year during a certain season. I was grateful that I’d been attending Christian Science Sunday School and knew how to pray whenever this came up. I’d learned that God is divine Love, and I knew that, of course, Love would never allow me to suffer. Each time, as I prayed and felt more of Love’s care for me, I was quickly free from all symptoms.

Then one year something dawned on me: I didn’t have to keep suffering through one flu season after another. Instead, I could refuse to accept two fundamental, aggressive suggestions underlying this issue: First, that disease exists. And second, that it could have a cycle or a season, or even a beginning and an ending.

I didn’t have to keep suffering through one flu season after another.
