Christ—Giving us exact answers, exact direction

On my recent trip to California, a couple who are dear friends invited me to stay overnight at their home. As often happens whenever we spend time together, our conversation turned to Christian Science, the faith the three of us share and love.

On this visit, we got to talking about what Christ means to us. I mentioned how much I value the way Mary Baker Eddy identified it, as “the true idea voicing good, the divine message from God to men speaking to the human consciousness” (see Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 332).

This prompted the husband to relate an experience of divine guidance his older brother had had while he was a World War II pilot, resulting in a safe landing after one of his aircraft’s engines caught fire. My friend’s wife added that the story was later published in the Christian Science Sentinel.
