“Dear God, if you’ll just get us out of here safely, I promise I’ll never leave my house again,” my husband said as our taxi careened down the mountain road in the south of India. It was after dark in the pouring rain and we wouldn’t reach our destination for three hours.
I certainly identified with his concerns. I felt them, too. As a student of Christian Science, I was praying in a different way, but I knew God loved both of us—and the driver. All of us made it through that wild ride safely.
Throughout the rest of our three-week tour of India—which involved numerous modes of transportation—I focused my prayers on the ever-presence of a good and loving God. I’d learned from my study of the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scripturesthat God would never cause His children to be in danger. I knew that only God could handle every detail of our trip perfectly, and that included our safety and security.
