Translating the Bible: its message for your life

Dr. Mary Trammell

In this hour-long Q&A chat event, Dr. Mary "Trinka" Trammell explores the history of Scriptural translation.

Beginning with an illuminating look at the King James Bible—and the social and political upheavals that inspired its creation—Dr. Trammell discusses popular translations and answers questions from site visitors on the ways various translations present core ideas; Mary Baker Eddy's use of different Bible translations; the centrality of love to the New Testament; and the importance of working with a translation full of inspiration and spiritual power.

A member of The Christian Science Board of Directors since 2001, and currently Editor in Chief of The Christian Science Journal, Sentinel, and Herald, Dr. Trammell co-authored, with William Dawley, the book The Reforming Power of the Scriptures.
