For stability and healing in the Eurozone

Live audio chat with Kari Mashos, C.S.B. and Tony Lobl, C.S.

In their comments on the challenges in the Eurozone, Kari and Tony lift the discussion above the fiscal difficulties emphasized in many news reports. "Believing that people's lives are governed by money can lead to fear," Kari explains, but through prayer we can see "God's compassionate rule of law governing."

Tony notes that in his own prayers, he's found it helpful to remember that there's only one union, and it's already established. That is the union between God and man, meaning all men, women, and children. This union is eternally secure because it is in God's care, and as we understand and cherish it, these spiritual thoughts bring healing.

Site visitors from France, Turkey, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Canada, and the United States offered questions and thoughts for the discussion. They asked about how to deal with youth unemployment, ways to avoid being fearful when local and global economies seem unstable, how the Lord's Prayer and greater gratitude might shed light on the situation, how to resist negativity toward officials and the situation that would poison thought and lead to hopelessness.
