The demand for church

I like to think of each church that grows up in a community as that community's answered prayer for the presence of the saving Christ—the message of God's love for humanity.

Christ my refuge

O'er waiting harpstrings of the mind     There sweeps a strain,Low, sad, and sweet, whose measures bind     The power of pain,
There was fear, then growthfrom faith to understanding, blotting out belief—the neat delete of every ill.
You protect meI give thanksYou love meI spread the loveYou make me joyfulI make others joyfulYou send me messagesI listen to Your angelsYou give me peaceI don't interrupt itYou guide meI follow

Smooth stone

The story of David and Goliath again.
To God compose a song of joy;To God make melody, Whose arm of strength does wondrous things, Whose hand brings victory!

DIVINE OPERATION

Inexorable light of Love, you probeWith laser fingers crannies of dark thought,And blazon shadows into radiance, strobeWith ultraviolet light—by no eye caught—Drab stone of habit till its surface flaresWith purple streaks, bright sparkles, crimson glows.
