Morning

Oh, what a beautiful, dewy, early morning!See reflections of boats and wharves in the mirroring bay!And oh, how beautiful, too, is Truth's bright dawning,With God's ideas under His constant, beneficent sway!

My Father's Voice

Within the secret precincts of my heart—So deeply welled not e'en mine eyes may see—There bides a voice which of mine own seems part,So oft I hear it softly speak with me.

Love's Joy

As roses from the one great GiverOf all lovelinessReceive their beauty,And, as theyGive out impartially to all alikeThe selfsame color, shape, and charming fragrance,Giving and ever giving without wearinessTheir sweetness to the atmosphere around,So let me also share with one and allThe deep unfailing joy God gives to me,That it may permeate the atmosphere of thoughtWith universal, spiritual tenderness,And bring to troubled senseSoul's dear delight.

The demand for church

I like to think of each church that grows up in a community as that community's answered prayer for the presence of the saving Christ—the message of God's love for humanity.

Gladness

I shall begin each sunlit morn anew,And go in joyousness the whole day throughWith gratitude for every lovely thing—My step shall lighter be, my heart shall sing.

Evening

Dear Father, in this twilight hourI bring a load of sorrow,The longings still unsatisfied,The fears about to-morrow.

Thy Will for Me

What is Thy will for me to-day?
There is a quiet sanctuary of peaceWhere all may enter in.

My Prayer

DEAR Lord, I askTo see my brother as the son of God,As one begotten of the Father's love,Whose high and holy heritage I share—Both sons, both heirs of that great heritage,The Father's home.
As light doth draw the flowers from the sod,That they may cover earth with loveliness,So Truth uplifts the human thought to God,That we may learn the way of holiness.
