From Church

The demand for church

I like to think of each church that grows up in a community as that community's answered prayer for the presence of the saving Christ—the message of God's love for humanity.

My Prayer

DEAR Lord, I askTo see my brother as the son of God,As one begotten of the Father's love,Whose high and holy heritage I share—Both sons, both heirs of that great heritage,The Father's home.

As light doth draw the flowers from the sod,That they may cover earth with loveliness,So Truth uplifts the human thought to God,That we may learn the way of holiness.

At the Sepulcher

Early in the morningA weeping woman came,Stooped in trembling silence,Murmuring low his name.

Darkness and Dawn

Dark night on Galilee! Storm-driven cloudsHad veiled the silver moon, the shining stars,The purple hills and lacy fringe of trees.
