Our Brother

As we take our daily steps through sunlit pathsOr shadowed ways, intent upon our goal, perchanceUnheeding, thinking only of the tasksWhich seem to crowd upon our days,And planning, weighing all the thingsWhich still somehow must needs be done,Oh, may we learn to pause and liftOur thought above all selfish care,Lest in our haste we might pass byOur brother, standing there!
Thou nameless one to Jacob friendThat wrestled through the night's dark hourAnd smote the sinew of a thoughtThat long had held him in its power,Come thou with light to my dark hour,So it may vanish with thy touch,And I behold in Truth's clear dayThe knowledge of a better way.

Salvation

Man Lives
