Sacrifice

To lay my earthly all upon the altar—This sacrifice seemed more than I could bear,Until I thought of Abraham and IsaacAnd of our heavenly Father's tender care.

Beside Bethesda's pool a cripple lay,As he had lain for many a weary year,Watching while others in a similar caseWere helped into the pool by willing hands.

How quiet the room, how calm the atmosphere;Surely God's very presence has dwelling here.

My Vineyard

The gate I thought securely latched,Swung open wide one day;Small foxes lurking just outsideThen crept inside to play.

Promise

Hagar! Hagar! Eyes so filled with tearsHave missed the living water at your hand.
