FREEDOM

When you have reached in prayer the Horeb height,Washed you and made you clean from every blame,When you have seen the Father's face alightAnd heard Him call your new and lovely name,The shattered golden bowl will be forgot,The silver cord be taut in that chaste hour; And though the earth road seem again your lot,You cannot be a bondsman any more!

PRESS ON!

I talked with God today,And then I listenedAnd heard Him say:Fear not—press on!Did not your Master bear the scornOf mortal mind?

THE WOMAN IN THE THRONG

Step by step she comes, she who would touchThe healing hem of that pure Christly robe.

THE JOY OF HEALING

What joy to know that Love is ever nearTo quiet thought, and take our fears away,And bring sweet peace to soothe throughout the day;So trusting, man lives on with vision clear,And praising God, delights to persevereIn serving Him, though skies be blight or gray,And blest of Truth, in gratitude doth pray,Increasing his devotion year by year.

REFLECTION

Father , I look to Thee,And know Thee Love alone; Thus in humilityI come into my own.

TRUE COMPASSION

Not sympathythat sees the beggar at the gateand pityinglydecries the harshness of his fate,"Poor fellow! Here's a coin will ease his lot"—and leaves him stilla crippled beggar in the road.

GOD CROWNETH THE YEAR

The beauty and beneficence of LoveShine like a light on vine and shrub and tree,On golden grain, rich fruit, and fragrant flowers,On growth and grace and glad fertility.
