THE WILDERNESS

Oh , let us gladly tend and cultivateOur little corner of the wilderness,Uproot the weeds and briers that possessThe ground—the bitterness, self-will, and hate—Sow gentle herbs of grace and then awaitTheir burgeoning that shall so richly blessAll who may pass that way with the largesseOf universal love, compassionateAnd wise.

WHEN WE KNOW THAT GOD IS LOVE

When we know that God is LoveAnd worship Him alone,We find that Love melts prison wallsMore adamant than stone.
I hold with none who thinks not work a boon,Vouchsafed to man that he may aid his kindWith offerings from his chisel, wheel or loomFashioned with loving hand and loving mind.

THE TOUCH DIVINE

Poised on wings of filigree,Patterned with deft artistry,Poems are such fragile thingsIn their flight.

GOD'S LIGHT

God's Word, a lamp unto our feet,Forever points the way:It leads from fear and darknessTo God's unending day.

PRAYER AT DAWN

Father , I thank Thee for my daily bread.
