ONE FOLD AND SHEPHERD

O ye who abide in the fold's cheery shelter,Protected and fed, snug and safe from the cold,List ye to the sweet loving voice of the shepherd:"And others I have, which are not of this fold.

MESSAGE OF THE BELLS

Night is gone, and with the dawning,Filtering through the mists of gray,Sound these heralds of the morning,Ringing blessings on the day:"Rise, give thanks," resounds the warning;"Praise the Lord!" they seem to say.

THE PRIZE

I know it waits for me,Exquisite thing;High, high I climb,My steps ne'er faltering,So dear the prize,Hid in a crevice there,A pale, soft star,Dropped from the Alpine skies—Fair bloom of edelweiss!

REST

Lie still, little child, on thy mother's breast; Her arms are about thee, and thou canst restSecure in her love, which knoweth best.

CONSCIOUSNESS

Life knows no death! In all the wondrous harmonyOf law is continuity—Life never fails.

"TEACH US TO PRAY"

O Father Mind, may I e'er read,Mark, inwardly digest, and heedWith eager sight, undimmed, untired,Thy written Word—the page inspired;Nor errant thought rob consciousnessOf aught which would uplift and bless.

GROWTH

The lowly floweret growing at my feetLifts trustingly its face toward the light,By sweet reflection groweth ever brightAnd brighter, and its breath more pure and sweet,No eye beholds it in this lone retreat; From all save One, its beauty hidden quite,As hides yon beaming star the cloud of night;Yet smiling on, it lives its lifetime fleet.

FREE

Forever free! These are the words I singAs toward the heights I speed on dauntless wing,And flash on flash of light illumes the wayTo sunlit realms of joyous, perfect day.

Ask no more, Why?...

Ask no more, Why?

LOVE'S HOUR

Love waits not for a designated hourTo spread the feast of honey and of wine; Each moment it is present,—mine and thineAnd all mankind's who know and seek Love's power.
