The unremarked, unnoticedthoughtfulness,the unsung, honest workfrom day to dayis Eucharist—as much as Sunday worshipon reverent knee—as we recognize in deedsof loving ordinarinessand faithfulnessa measure of the sacred Christlinessthat washes another's feet.
At the end of summer, a teenage girl in a black T-shirt came into the lobby of the Church Administration building and dropped off the following poem.
