Our Duty

Duty is a word which has been not only much misunderstood, but also more or less shunned.
The student of history knows how true is the saying, "Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people," to be found in the fourteenth chapter of Proverbs.
The futility of human activity, except it be to the glory of God, is set forth with much emphasis in the sacred Scriptures.

The compassion of God is frequently referred to in the Old Testament.
