In the Christian Science Bible Lesson

Moments that stick

She thought what she wanted more than anything was to be able to dance again. But through her prayers, this college student got more than that—and what she got really stuck with her.
Completely overwhelmed, I remember offering up one brief prayer: “Father, I need help.” I just stood there and waited, ready to humbly follow God’s guidance.
It was a little intimidating, because I haven’t been through an experience like that myself, so at first I wasn’t sure what to say or do. But I also felt like this was the moment God had prepared me for.

Victory over cruelty

For years I had been absorbing negative statements about me rather than rebuffing them.
I needed the radical change that Christian Science brought to how I approached mental health.
In an on-again, off-again friendship, this author often felt obligated to keep the peace. But was loving her neighbor at the expense of loving herself actually what Jesus taught? She prayed to find out.
We can today heal ourselves and others by holding in thought the perfect model of being.
Even though I had to go to work the next day, I stayed up late reading Science and Health. I just couldn’t put it down.

The lady by the lake

What a service we do for humanity when we see things for what they really are.

Can God be sick?

I wanted to help my family, so I did what I saw my mom and dad do a lot—I prayed for my brother to help him feel better.
Each one of us can expect to see humanity advance into a new world where everyone is respected for his or her worth as the child of God.

Was I going to flunk?

The night before the final exam, I began to panic.
