The logic of Christian Science
Christian Science is Science because it is understandable, demonstrable, and consistent.
One attribute of any science is that its applications and demonstrations proceed consistently and inexorably from laws and rules that are coherent and consistent. A science must have a defined order, or it would be chaotic, random, ultimately unknowable and therefore useless. It must also be logical in the sense that its conclusions must provably and consistently follow from the premises set forth.
That is certainly the case with Christian Science. Christian Science is Science because it is understandable, demonstrable, and consistent. And it is imbued with pure logic. In it, effect follows inevitably from cause—specifically, from the primal cause called God, whom Christian Scientists also understand as divine Principle.
Christian Science and sciences based on physical sense start from opposite premises. Bodies of knowledge obtained from the physical senses start from the assumption that matter is real, substantial, and causative. Christian Science starts from the premise that God, Spirit, is real, substantial, and causative and that matter is Spirit’s opposite. In this Science, all cause and effect belong to divine Principle, which is absolute, immutable, and eternal.
