In the Christian Science Bible Lesson

Since very serious misconceptions prevail as to the methods employed by Christian Science, I hope you will find space for the following correction.
The reply of "Nemo" to my last letter is written in a tone which makes it a pleasure to reply to him.

BELIEF IN SIN

In Science and Health we read: "The belief in sin is punished so long as the belief lasts".

SERVICE

When we are awakened to some appreciation of what Christian Science means to the world, there is born in our consciousness an earnest desire to serve our fellow men in the highest possible way, by bringing to them this message of good cheer, this practical religion which heals sickness and sin through the only right method—the removal of the false beliefs which cause suffering and wrong-doing.

GIVING AND RECEIVING

Our Wednesday evening meetings are always pervaded by such a spirit of genuine helpfulness and good will that we often recall the words of our hymn:—

CHANGELESS LOVE

The stationary appearance of rock-bodied mountains points beyond the fleeting objects of time to the things of eternity.

LOVING INTELLIGENCE

The term intelligence, as frequently used, is apt to leave an impression of coldness.

THANKSGIVING DAY

A God-fearing nation, like ours, owes it to its inborn and sincere sense of moral duty to testify its devout gratitude to the All Giver for the countless benefits it has enjoyed.

FROM OUR EXCHANGES

[Bishop McCormick in Churchman.
In a recent issue appeared a sermon by a clergyman on the occasion of the opening of the new Chalmers church, in which he alludes disparagingly to Christian Science.
I wish to correct an erroneous impression contained in the article in a recent issue of your paper, in regard to a criminal who, the article says, has embraced Christian Science and thereby "hopes to cheat the electric chair," etc.
You report the president of the Lancashire and Cheshire Association of Baptist Churches as saying at Oldham that Christian Science attracted by being incomprehensible.
