The Yorkshire Gazette contained some references to Christian Science which show that the writer has no conception of what Christian Science really does teach, and therefore the criticisms are calculated to give a false impression.
The statement by a recent contributor to the News-Times, that Christian Science is neither Christian nor scientific, probably voices the critic's opinion, althought it is manifestly an opinion based on a very limited investigation and evidences that he has not tested Christian Science teaching for himself.
During an evangelistic service a few weeks ago a speaker made some untrue, unchristian, and ungentlemanly remarks concerning the Leader of the Christian Science religion.
The Baptist Standard, published at Dallas, Texas, contained an editorial entitled "Christian Scientists and Healing.
Seeing that the recent lecture at Salem by a Swedenborgian minister on "Christ's Divine Healing Power," of which the News published a report, was evidently designed to minimize and discredit the healing work done by Christian Science, I assume that comment by a Christian Scientist may be in order.
