The Gate Beautiful

An inspiring story is recorded, in the third chapter of the Acts of the Apostles, of the healing of a lame man "at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful.

"A great while before day"

The Apostle Paul, in his letter to the Colossians showing the need for conscientious sincerity in all service, admonished them as follows, "Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ," One who understands this assurance, "Ye serve the Lord Christ," performs the various tasks of the daily round with grace and gratitude, thus bringing into his experience the joy of loving service to God and his fellow man.

IN the Bible record of the trial of Jesus, his reply to the question of Pontius Pilate, the Roman procurator, "To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth," apparently stirred only skepticism in the heart of his hearer.
