In the Christian Science Bible Lesson

The following is the text of an announcement The Christian Science Board of Directors shared with employees at the Christian Science Center on March 9, 1992.
We especially appreciate friends and family when we pull together in times of need. Church can be that kind of family—and more.

In a wilderness?

There's a wilderness of beauty we'd like to preserve. But what about wildernesses of fear and helplessness? Christ-healing replaces them with joy and strength.

How do we view God?

The Science of Christ opens our thought to the infinite nature of God and to His all-encompassing love.
"'People don't realize how common it is for grief to be borne lightly' .... The absence of extreme distress 'can be a sign of resilience' ...."

What can heal despair?

Each time we awake to a greater understanding of man's spiritual nature, we glean something of the power of divine Life over death.

A time to weep?

Our concern for humanity's many needs doesn't have to lead to sadness. True compassion brings with it an understanding of the ability of divine Love to heal and save.
Christians the world over recognize Christ Jesus as Saviour.
Christ Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection make plain how far true forgiveness and spiritual love can reach. They are life-sustaining and life-transforming power.
About our cover—The central "story" of Christianity is so much more than a story. It is the life we are looking for—a life of joy and purpose.
