In the Christian Science Bible Lesson

On the alert

To be mentally alert is to stay attuned to God, to listen to the voice of the Christ continually, regardless of where we are and what we are doing.

Healed of depression

It seemed like no one—not my parents, my teachers, or my friends—knew how to help me.
I stopped fixating on what looked like limited resources and changing circumstances and prayed to be more alert to the divine Love that takes care of everyone.

How are you praying about recent events in Washington, DC?

The invasion of the United States Capitol last month sounded alarm bells. And they are pealing even louder as a result of a recent survey revealing that about 30 percent of Americans feel that if elected leaders aren’t going to “protect” America, the people must do it themselves, even if it means resorting to violence.

Hymns can help!

One day my mom took me to the bike track, but I was scared of going down bumpy hills. I decided to sing Hymn 1 from the Christian Science Hymnal.

Standing on the Rock

The harmony and well-being of our daily lives may be challenged severely, but nothing can upend them as we stand on the Rock, Truth, and on Jesus’ demonstrations of victory over discordant circumstances through trust in and the understanding of God.

From loss to Life

An understanding of Life as God suddenly became imperative when my father passed on unexpectedly, presenting me with the greatest challenge I’d ever faced.
The antagonistic force of personal will only serves to strengthen entrenched beliefs.
It was an important math test, and this student was stumped. Then her professor unexpectedly taught her a lesson in what intelligence really looks like, and she learned how listening to God plays a key role in the way we express that quality.
I prayed not only for myself but also for my dad’s business and for the rest of the country.
I acknowledged that because God is my loving Father-Mother, my divine Parent, my needs are always supplied.

Our home in God

I look forward to being in my right place by holding on to good and loving thoughts.
