After the scary movie

When it was time to turn out the lights and go to bed, I couldn’t stop picturing scary images from that movie. I knew it had all been fake, but I was still afraid.

Watching and safety

I knew something was wrong, and at that moment I reached out to God in prayer.
Humanity’s innate desire to seek and know divine goodness helps us realize that there’s much more to life than what the physical senses grasp.
We never need to get down in the muck of grappling with discord as a reality before it’s healed.

What’s my talent?

Annie’s teacher reminded her, since our identity is God-created, only God can tell us what’s true about us. She suggested that Annie listen for God to tell her who she really was.
I barely made it through the hour-long class, and afterward I questioned, “How can I come back to school tomorrow? Have I lost my knack? Should I be doing something different?” That night, I woke up and the idea came to me to pray.
The duty and privilege of serving in church soon took on new meaning that was quite different from my childhood perceptions of church activities.
