Bridgeport Public Library

Dear Editor:—The children of our Sunday School have decided to use their money for placing Christian Science literature in our public institutions.
Since coming into Christian Science in 1893, it has been my thought that sometime I too would endeavor to express somewhat of the inestimable good which has blessed me every moment since I began to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.

Taking Thought

When riding in the street cars, through the very busy sections of the city, have you ever looked from the windows and noted the crowds of teams and people which seem to be in the way along which you must pass?

Chains Loosened

Nearly three years ago, weary and heart-sick, trying to attain the perfection which Scripture commands, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect," getting no nearer the goal and realizing that the beliefs of theology which I had clung to since early childhood were sinking from beneath me because of lack of foundation and practical ability to meet the needs my heart craved, I turned to Christian Science, and in these few years have received more strength, help, and comfort than in all the preceding years of my life worshiping an unknown God.

"Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," printed from new plates, with lines numbered, and with important revisions by the author, is now ready for distribution.

Life's Aim

To love and love and continue to love, exacting nothing in return; to love patiently, quietly, calmly, taking no thought for my own; to love on and on, never thinking whether or not the world sees or knows; to love my brother and sister, never considering whether or not my brother or sister loves me; but to love, simply for the sake of loving and the unspeakable and inexplicable joy which emanates from that love which alone prompts a man to "lay down his life for his friends.

Testimony Meetings

The first speaker was a young man who had been healed of pulmonary trouble to which several members of his family had succumbed.

Christian Science Defended

Under the above heading a recent issue of the Minneapolis Journal contains an article by Abbot Edes Smith, C.

Religious Items

It was a teaching of some of the wise men of ancient time that in intellect and morals every person gives shape to his own character, becomes the architect of his own fortune.
