In reply to the criticism of an evangelist permit me to state: It is true that those who get an understanding of Christian Science lose the desire to pray as they once prayed, if they prayed at all, but they by no means lose the desire to pray.

If the charge made by the reverend critic be true, that the teaching of Christian Science is opposed to God's Word, how are we to account for the fact that thousands of people who never before took any interest in the Bible, have become, after reading the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.
The Record, being fairly wise in its day and generation, has not lavishly used the publicity stuff sent out by various "benevolent" institutes, societies, associations, and clubs.

In answering a critic of material medicine in your columns a physician went out of his way to "judge that our critic belongs to that class of people who believe in Christian Science.
It would be necessary for one to read dispassionately but a small portion of Mrs.
A more careful study of Christian Science on our critic's part would have prevented him from making statements which, although true in the absolute sense, cannot be held to be true in the relative sense which he intended.
