Grateful to have Christian Science
I was introduced to spiritual healing when my eldest sister was healed of a terminal illness by reading Science and Health. I began reading something about it just to broaden my horizon.
After graduating from high school I chose to study pharmaceutics. At that time I suffered great pain every time I had my monthly period. Once I took two aspirin tablets, and instead of getting some relief from the pain, it became severer. I was alone at home and was about to faint, when I cried to God for help. These words from Science and Health came to my thought: "Become conscious for a single moment that Life and intelligence are purely spiritual,—neither in nor of matter,—and the body will then utter no complaints" (p. 14). At that very moment I understood that I was a spiritual idea created by God and could not suffer. The pain disappeared so suddenly that I was in awe. In one instant I was in great pain, and in the next instant the pain was completely gone. This healing inspired me to study Science and Health more seriously. Soon after I was married, I left the pharmaceutical profession altogether.
I began studying the Bible Lesson from the Christian Science Quarterly every day. Little by little I gained a greater understanding that God is infinite Love and that He governs all. I understood that we are the expression of God and cannot be separated from Him. These truths enabled me to be cured of diseases when I was bringing up my children.
