Painful arm condition overcome
Early last year, one of my arms started aching, and my hand would not function normally. I was not able even to hold a hammer at work. Knowing that there can be no healing except from God, I prayed.
Prayer is a daily practice for me because I walk with God. It is a way of communicating with God. He is my Father, and I know He always hears me. The idea that enlightened my thought was that I reflect God as His image and likeness (see Genesis 1:26, 27). God is Spirit, and Spirit and its reflection are untouched by any material discord. God is also perfect, so because I reflect God I am already perfect, and therefore did not need to become perfect.
I read the Bible story of a woman who had “an issue of blood twelve years” (see Matthew 9:20–22). Physicians had been unable to heal her, and she sought healing from Jesus. She found him and came behind him and touched the hem of his garment, believing that if she could just touch his clothes she would be healed. And she was—immediately. I believe that at that moment, she realized, and therefore experienced, the true wholeness of her being as God’s child—her spiritual identity, untouched and unlimited by disease.
