Several years ago, one of my ears was blocked, so everything I heard out of this ear was muffled. I decided I needed to hear, to understand more deeply, how God is speaking to us without interruption.

I found the definition of ears in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy inspiring: “Not organs of the so-called corporeal senses, but spiritual understanding.

“Jesus said, referring to spiritual perception, ‘Having ears, hear ye not?’ (Mark viii. 18.)” (p. 585).
