Normal functioning of knee restored
Last spring, one of my knees became very sore. It was particularly uncomfortable when I was sitting in a chair or driving my car.
As I began to pray, I felt I needed to specifically address a couple of common false beliefs, based on what I knew to be spiritually true from my study of Christian Science. One was that people go through an aging process and that it is normal to have aches and pains. Another was that we are material beings with body parts that may not function well.
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, the Christian Science textbook, explains why the reverse is true: “The Scriptures inform us that man is made in the image and likeness of God. Matter is not that likeness. The likeness of Spirit cannot be so unlike Spirit. Man is spiritual and perfect; and because he is spiritual and perfect, he must be so understood in Christian Science” (Mary Baker Eddy, p. 475).
