Grandson’s earache healed
Last year I received a text from my daughter in the middle of the night telling me that my almost two-year-old grandson was crying and in pain. He was learning to use words but could not communicate what was hurting him. Since he was tugging on his ear, my daughter deduced that he had an earache, and she asked me to pray. My daughter was concerned for her son, but she expected a quick healing for him through Christian Science, since she has had many healings through prayer herself.
I suggested that my daughter consider the healing ideas in that week’s Bible Lesson from the Christian Science Quarterly. She told me that they would both listen to the online audio version as she held and comforted him. As they did this, I prayed.
In my prayers, I acknowledged the power, presence, and perfection of God and the perfection of God’s children. I knew that being afraid would not help, nor would it honor my grandson’s true identity as the image and likeness of his all-powerful and all-loving Father-Mother God.
