Letters & Conversations

I loved this poem and its self-revealing questions.

Marshall Pilkington, West End, North Carolina, US

I was reading this article before church one Sunday morning. I was very concerned over an envelope of checks that had fallen out of my car on the way to the bank the previous day. A search for the bag yielded no results, and no one had contacted me saying they had found it. The article helped me see that just as I identify myself as “God’s immediate expression,” everyone else is the same and incapable of anything other than love. After reading this, I went out to the foyer. There was a man there, talking to the ushers about some checks he had found. I looked, and he was holding my envelope! (A few of the checks had my church’s address on them.) I thanked him profusely. He refused any reward and said he too was a Christian and was just happy to do it. I’m so grateful for this proof of the power of God and the goodness of man.
