Grateful for two healings
Mary Baker Eddy
often shared with people close to her how she prayed. One recalled her explaining that when she healed, she “only knew that what seemed to be before her was unreal”
(We Knew Mary Baker Eddy, Expanded Edition, Vol. I, p. 119).
It has been especially helpful to me to realize that because Mrs. Eddy knew God’s nature as infinite and all good and the all-good nature of His creation, she understood that what appeared before her as disease just couldn’t be real. I’d like to share two healings I’ve experienced by praying with this insight.
One night as I went to bed, my body began itching uncontrollably. Welts appeared, and the itching was overwhelming. I’d had several episodes like this before. I got up and paced and prayed and tried not to scratch while waiting for the itching to stop so I could go back to bed.
