God’s law of harmony, always in operation

Originally published in Spanish

Many of us accept in theory that God is Love and that He loves us, but we can actually prove this. I share the following experience to give an illustration of what I mean.

One Friday when I participated in an inspirational meeting offered by the Christian Science nursing organization in Chile, the following was read from No and Yes by Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer of Christian Science: “God’s law is in three words, ‘I am All;’ and this perfect law is ever present to rebuke any claim of another law. God pities our woes with the love of a Father for His child,—not by becoming human, and knowing sin, or naught, but by removing our knowledge of what is not” (p. 30). This passage left me reflecting on how simple it is to become conscious of the great truth that God is All, and that He does not know sin, sickness, and inharmony, nor can His children experience them. How beautiful it is to know this!

The next day, I was in the kitchen preparing breakfast for my children, and while they were eating, I put water in the kettle to boil on the stove. After it was boiling, I poured the water into my glass mug. Suddenly, as I was walking with my mug in one hand and the kettle in the other, the mug shattered. I was wearing flip-flops and the hot water and glass fell directly on my feet.
