Fractures healed after a fall
I recently had an experience that showed God’s care and the healing power of prayer. An extension ladder slipped out from under me while I was washing 14-foot-high windows at our house. My dear wife found me unconscious and bleeding. The picture was alarming, and she called 911 for an ambulance.
We live in an isolated area, and it took over an hour for the ambulance to arrive. During that time my wife was praying fervently and reading aloud to me from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.
Doctors at the hospital said that X-rays showed two skull fractures and a nose fracture. When they discussed possible surgery with me, they recommended that I wait three days and then see a surgeon. A lifelong Christian Scientist, I had on other occasions experienced spiritual healing of broken bones, so it was natural for me to rely on God for healing in this case as well. The doctors graciously respected my wishes and simply cleaned me up and stitched up the wounds in my face before releasing me from their care.
