Heart trouble healed
In 2017 I began experiencing health problems that made me fearful. I tried to refute the thoughts coming to me about disease, knowing they weren’t from God, but instead got caught up in attempting to diagnose the problem. This began in early November, and by the middle of December, there were more aggressive symptoms that led me to believe I had a heart condition.
Although I have had several significant healings over the years through Christian Science, the fear of the symptoms began to overwhelm me. I called a Christian Science practitioner to pray with me. He gave me Christian Science treatment, which helped allay my fear, and shared this statement from Psalms: “Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord” (31:24). This gave me comfort and hope.
Although the symptoms were sometimes aggressive, I was able to go about most normal activities. When the fear was great, I was reminded of this beautiful promise from First John: “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear” (4:18). It offers such assurance that God’s love is greater than any problem. I can see now that this great fact of being was operating in my thought even as the battle with fear continued.
