Healed after a traffic accident
One Sunday some years ago, I was coming home from church. I was standing on the sidewalk getting ready to cross over to the other side of the paved road when suddenly a bus came by, speeding and out of control. As it went by, it struck me. I immediately exclaimed, “I cannot fall!”—understanding that God does not fall, and that He keeps His children from falling, too.
I was dizzy, injured, and in pain. Kind people who had witnessed the accident wanted to hold me up, thinking I wouldn’t be able to stand, but I didn’t fall. One of those people expressed surprise at this. I explained, “What you have just seen here is the manifestation of God’s love that governs and protects us.”
Though a taxi was made available to take me to the hospital, I knew I wanted to rely on Christian Science instead of medical care. When I got home, I prayed for myself in Christian Science.
