Healing dawns
A few years ago, I had an experience in which spiritual light drew me out of darkness and brought about a physical healing.
One afternoon while visiting an animal sanctuary in a nearby town with a fellow Christian Scientist, I suddenly began to feel unwell. Soon after, I lost consciousness. When I awoke, I was surrounded by EMTs (Emergency Medical Technicians), who had been called in. They offered to take me to the emergency room to have everything checked out. I thanked them for their kindness and care but declined the offer and assured them that my friend would deliver me safely home.
Later, at home, still feeling unsettled from the earlier episode, I began to experience an internal pain that was very frightening. I called a Christian Science practitioner to pray for me. Because of the pain, I was unable to sleep, so I sat in a chair through the night, in quiet stillness and willingness to receive the tender and comforting care of my Father-Mother God. There was nothing I wanted more than the spiritual light that Christian Science brings and that Christ Jesus demonstrated so perfectly.
