Injured hip healed
One day last January I was leaving the house for the day when I suddenly slipped on some ice that had formed overnight. I landed hard with all my weight on my hip, and I heard a cracking sound. The pain was significant.
After a few moments my wife was able to help me to my feet. I was unable to move my leg in any direction. Walking or any kind of movement was practically impossible. With difficulty I got back inside and called a Christian Science practitioner to pray for me. She reminded me that “accidents are unknown to God. . .” (Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 424) and that I had never fallen from His perfect care.
As I hung up the phone, my wife handed me a printout of a testimony that we had both referred to in the past when dealing with injuries. It told of someone who had fallen from a great height and had been completely healed through prayer, in a matter of a few days, of every effect of that experience. The magnitude of that healing gave me much to think about regarding my own situation, and left me with hope for a similar resolution.
