Church in action
[Barbara Cook Spencer, “How are you praying for Afghanistan?” cssentinel.com, August 26, 2021]
This article fits well with new ways of engaging with the periodicals and experiencing church activity. My listening to news radio over breakfast has been replaced by listening to audio from The Christian Science Journal and Sentinel. Out of this has emerged an urgent desire to share gems, so I’ve texted these to some church members, which has resulted in a rich outflow of ideas, application, and outcomes.
This type of church activity has nothing to do with church edifices. Rather it is members and attendees seeking and opening up to new ways of engaging with each other and the issues of the day based on a spiritual foundation—a veritable church in action.
The Christian Science Monitor is an inspired, strong, brave, steady, well-informed resource, and all of the Christian Science periodicals can be shared in many different ways. And in my experience, they are making a difference in how church can be lived.
Thank you for being there.
