Freed from pain, protected from injury
I would like to express gratitude for not only a quick healing but also the willingness of Christian Science practitioners, who lovingly give of their time and prayers at all hours of the day and night in support of healing through Christian Science.
One night, I was riding a horse I had recently bought, trying to establish some communication and control by getting him to walk over a series of wooden poles laid on the ground. We didn’t know each other very well and hadn’t yet built a trusting relationship. The horse would not go over the poles with me in the saddle, so I decided to dismount and try to guide him over the poles by circling him around me using a lead rope about six feet long. This put me in close proximity to him, but at this point I was in a hurry and impatient.
As he picked up speed on the circle, at one point I was unaware that I was close to his hindquarters, and suddenly, without warning, the horse kicked me in the stomach with his hind leg. I doubled over in pain. It was quite a jolt.
