Pianist’s prelude at church
I sit in church this Sunday morn
And listen to this prayer in song,
Which stills the turmoil I have borne,
Dark thoughts that lingered far too long.
This melody removes my fear
Through grace distilled in every sound.
The prelude’s message, “God is here,”
Shows unity in Church now found.
I rise and sing my gratitude,
A living note in harmony,
For music’s healing altitude
And we, the chords, God’s symphony.
